What an application package is
An application package brings together all the documents for one application: cover letter, CV and attachments such as references and certificates, with a cover page if you want one. Today it is usually sent as a single PDF instead of several separate files.
In ModernVitae, the package is built from what you already have. CV and cover letter come from the editor; references and other attachments are added as PDFs or images and put in the order you want. The table of contents lists every attachment with its page.

The whole package, page by page
Cover page, table of contents, cover letter and CV appear one below the other. On the left you switch parts on and off; the number of pages in the package is shown there too.
The cover letter comes from the editor
Enter recipient, date, subject and text on the left, or write directly on the page. The letter carries the colour and font of the CV.

What the package contains
Cover page
With the job you are applying for, your name and, if you wish, your photo. You can also leave it out.
Table of contents
Builds itself from the parts of the package and says what is on which page.
Cover letter and CV
Come from the editor, in the same colour and font as the cover page.
Attachments as PDF or image
References, certificates, work samples. You name each attachment and set the order.
Attachments stay on your device
Uploaded references are kept in your browser and are not transferred to the server, even if you have an account.

The whole package or only part of it, depending on what the job asks for.
How to put the package together
- Create your CV and, if you wish, write the cover letter.
- Under “Package”, switch on the cover page and add attachments.
- Check the order; the preview shows the package page by page.
Frequently asked questions
What belongs in an application package?
The usual contents are the cover letter, the CV and the references and certificates that are relevant to the job, in that order. A cover page is optional. Whatever a job advert explicitly asks for takes precedence.
Are my references uploaded?
No. Attachments stay in your browser on your device, even if you have an account. That means they are only there on the device where you added them; a backup includes them.
Is the application package free?
Putting it together and previewing it are free. Exporting it as a PDF and printing are part of ModernVitae Premium.
Which files can I add as attachments?
PDF files and images (JPEG, PNG, WebP).
